An Akure magistrate court has ordered that the 27 year-old boy friend and alleged killer of ex Ondo deputy governor’s daughter, Seidu Shakiru Adeyemi be remanded at Olokuta prison in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Adeyemi was charged to court for the murder of 25 year old khadijat Oluboyo , a student of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) and daughter of the immediate deputy governor of Ondo state, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo on Monday.
She was said to have been killed and buried in the accused’s room on July 2 2018 and arrested while attempting to evacuate the corpse when policemen swooped on him.
Police procesecutor, sgt Mary Adebayo told the court that the accused person and others now at large conspired together to strangle Khadijat to death and they buried her in his room.
The prosecutor further said, the offence was committed on July 2 at about 7.30pm at Aratunsin street, Oke – Aro, Akure.
She told the court that the offence was contrary to and punishable under section324 and 316 of the Criminal Code Cap 37, vol 1 laws of Ondo state of Nigeria, 2006.
She later made an application for the remand of the accused in prison custody pending legal advice fro DPP.
Defence counsel, Taiwo Gbadebio did not object the motion of the prosecutor.
Chief magistrate Mrs Victoria Bob-Manuel ordered that the accused be remanded in olokuta prison pending the receipt of legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution while the original copy of case file is sent to state chief registrar for safe keeping.
The plea of the accused was not taken while the case was however adjourned to August 23, 2018.
