Zambia. The SA Presidents XII knocked out Zambia in their opening match in Polokwane.

A Look at the Developments
The host nation who are the favorites to win the tournament this year took rein of the game
from the very start and ended the first quarter of the game with a vast difference of 17-6.
They made a more significant lead, adding 38-9 to the scoreboard that added to their
advantage. The Namibian side could never really buck up the momentum and kept struggling
in the third quarter, and by the end of the final quarter, they were trailing behind by a meagre
score of 61-15.
Though the Namibian side put up a fight against the Proteas in the last fifteen minutes of the
game at the end, they did not manage to win against their rivals and kept trailing by a
considerable margin of fifty points.
The Proteas captain Bongi Msomi said that though there were quite a few things that her team
needs to work on to better their game and their coordination with each other, it was great to
get together as a team and win a game after long. She also said that while it was a great game,
the team as a whole would like to keep on improving with each new game.
It was also a milestone game for Maryka Holtzhausen and the team goalie LenziePotgeiter
who competed in their 100th and 50th game respectively. Holtzhausen said in her statement
post the match that she never imagined having 100 caps for South Africa, and especially that
her 100th match would take place at the ground where she started off her career as a
professional netball player.
As for the other big clash that took place at the tournament so far, it was SA Presidents XII
who fought quite a fierce battle against Zambia with a score of 38-36 during the final quarter.
However, the SA invitation squad that mostly comprised of youngsters managed to win,
rather narrowly with a score of 48-46.
Zimbabwe had earned a victory over Botswana with a score of 43-30 in an opening day
